About Laura Castro-Martinez 

Team Development Coordinator and Curly Hair Specialist

Growing up, my hair journey has always been a rocky one. Between the lack of curly hair representation in the media while throughout my childhood and my past haircut traumas, I struggled with my self-confidence and in finding myself in my natural hair.

As a Curl Specialist and Curly Hair Educator at Curlture Salon I get the privilege to positively impact both my clients and my students. It is my goal to provide my clients with the education needed to care for and love their natural texture while simultaneously giving them a home away from home in my chair. To my students I am committed to your education and growth to becoming the stylists you’ve always wanted to be.

Outside of the salon I am a sister, wife and mother to my beautiful son Micah. My journey to motherhood was not an easy one, but being a mom has been one of the most challenging and fulfilling accomplishment of my entire life and I feel has opened up my perspective and allowed me to connect more deeply with the guests in my chair. I am also a cat mom to two crazy boys named Oliver and Grayson. I enjoy watching anime and have been becoming a more avid reader!

The sense of community that has been created here at Curlture is a joy to be a part of as it allows me to share my story and be a source of knowledge and support to our guests. My love and passion for curly hair is seen in every part of what I bring to Curlture; I’m proud to say I love what I do!
