We are Curl Color Specialists. After an 18-months of education and hands-on training in our hair salon apprenticeship, our stylist goes through another 1 year minimum to become a curly colorist, and their education is ongoing. We love all types of curls and are excited to help you embrace your natural beauty!

How We Became Curly Hair Colorists
For 7 years, Lydia Carpenter dedicated a minimum of 8 hours a week to study and experimentation dedicated to honing her colorist skills while also working 5 days a week as colorist. She was looking for how to sustainably give highlights and color to curly hair without damaging it and without affecting the integrity of the curl.
She tirelessly experimented and tested using Model Nights. Model Nights are education focused opportunities for our skilled apprentice stylists to practice their curly hair cutting, styling, and education skills with the assistance of our salon educators on models. Our models receive an amazing curly hair service by our apprentices for a discounted price and our apprentices receive the opportunity to perform a full service from start to finish as a curl specialist!
After thousands of hours of experience, experimentation and learning from other specialists, Lydia cracked the code resulting in beautiful lasting hair color that leaves the hair, shiny, healthy and hydrated. Now she teaches her techniques to other dedicated curl specialists in Curlture’s Hair Apprenticeship Program.

All of our stylists have completed a comprehensive 18-month Hair Apprenticeship and have shown mastery in all curly hair sculpting and styling. That training is the culmination of the years of practice and experimentation from our entire team.
